As us, for us, by us
When reflecting on this project I must acknowledge the effectiveness of whanaungatanga (family relationships).
The creative process involves a collective effort. Sharing ideas, problem solving and brain storming are important for critical thinking to occur when describing an idea or emotion visually. And the rangatahi who participated in this project rose to the challenge confidently, producing a mural proudly displayed for their community to enjoy.
The end result of this 2 month long project, 2017 hangs on the wall of the local Kaeo Foursquare. Attached to it is a plaque that tells the purakau (story) of Whangaroa.
