How could you represent the past, present and future of Tahaawai using symbols, signs, patterns, text?

How could you represent Hapurangatiratanga? What does it mean and look like to you?

What is the message you would like to leave behind for your moko using symbols, signs, pictures, patterns, text.

Visual library

Collect visuals, imagery, photographs, Tohu/symbols, text as image and colour, that best describe visually the message or image you are representing. Store them in your visual diary for referencing.

Materials and equipment

Base Paraikete Whero or red woolen fabric/selection of fabrics and textiles, sewing needles, cotton, wool for stitching, sharp scissors, a visual diary for drawings.

Layout: Do some experimental drawings of how you will lay your imagery out on your paraikete, this will help you understand how your visuals will sit and the narrative flow.

Resources: Stencils of text and numbers, lino print patches
